ATLA Journals Database - user guide: ATLAS for Alumni

How to make the most of the ATLA/ATLAS for your research and writing.

ATLAS access for RTS alumni

The RTS libraries offer free access to the ATLAS journals database to our alumni.

To qualify, you have to have earned a degree/diploma from one of the RTS degree programs (i.e., if you took a few classes but did not graduate, we cannot offer this program to you).

The Atla team developed AtlaSerials® (Atlas®) for Alum to help support alumni, clergy, and other unaffiliated scholars with their continuing research pursuits in religion and theology.

This research tool has most of the same great content offerings as the versions you accessed as a student or affiliated scholar. This includes ceased journals, open access content, and essay collections; content in more than 40 languages from more than 75 countries; features like Scripture Search for the Bible and citation indexes for the Quran, Book of Mormon, Talmud, and additional sacred texts, and more. Additionally, more than 75% of the journals in the full-text collections, Atlas for Alum and Atlas PLUS for Alum go back to the first published volume and issue.  While the amount of materials is not as extensive as full access to ATLAS, the free offering provides you with many resources for your ongoing studies in ministry.

  • To obtain access to ATLAS for Alum, contact the library staff *at the campus from which you graduated.*
  • They will provide the ID/pwd information for you.
  • Then you can go to the "ATLAS for Alumni" link on this page: rts.edu/academics/library/databases/

We hope Atlas for Alum helps you with your continuing academic research, sermon and worship preparation, or scholarly projects.
